I have nowhere else to vent this madness, so I'm just gonna roll with it here.

So, I like my job enough, except for one waitress who just drives me crazy. She's just condescending as hell. Anyway, a week after railing at me for calling in on a family emergency, she calls in, practically crying, saying how her boyfriend may've had a heart attack, the doctors aren't sure, but she can't come into work, has to get to the hospital, etc. I was really nice about it and wished her luck and safety and all that good stuff.

I went in for breakfast this morning and one of the other waitresses said the boyfriend came looking for said evil waitress since then. Meaning, since Monday when he 'may have had a heart attack.'

The waitress in question is a former alcoholic and went to A.A. and isn't supposed to be drinking anymore, and yet quite a few people said they've seen her drunk lately and that she smelled like booze, etc. So...it's just kind of annoying that she'll rail at me for a legitimate issue, yet make stuff up so she can just stay home and be drunk.

GRR.

That's all.

Also, I was reading the restaurant's reviews online, and man, are they dismal. I really should try to find another place of employment. My boss is not quite with the times and had no idea we have even been reviewed online - he'd be horrified at some of the things people have said.

Blah. I dunno.

Just felt like venting a bit.

Waiting tables is hard work, and attracts an interesting mix of people.... If you decide to "enlighten" your boss about the online restaurant reviews, you might want to have another job lined up first! Stay strong -- I am confident that better things await you in your future!
